My eBay listing was removed (VeRO or MC024)

A listing pulled for a policy breach, or through VeRO when a brand reports it infringes their intellectual property.

Reviewed by the Tekovex marketplace team · eBay store management

MC024 is applied when a listing is removed for violating eBay’s general listing policies, or through the VeRO program, which stands for Verified Rights Owner.

VeRO removals happen when a brand or rights holder reports that your listing infringes their intellectual property, such as using their photos, logo, or trademarked name without permission, or selling an item they consider counterfeit or unauthorised.

Repeated VeRO reports can escalate into a full account suspension, so each one should be treated seriously rather than ignored. If you believe the report is wrong, there is a counter-notice process, but it needs to be handled carefully.

A practical checklist

  • Read the removal notice to see whether it is a general policy breach or a named VeRO rights owner.
  • For VeRO, identify exactly what was claimed: your photos, the brand name in the title, or the item itself.
  • Replace your own photos and descriptions with original content you own.
  • If the report is genuinely wrong, prepare a factual counter-notice. Do not just relist the same thing.
  • Track how many VeRO reports the account has had. Several is a suspension risk.

How Tekovex helps

We work out what was actually claimed, fix the listings so they are compliant, prepare a counter-notice where the report is wrong, and clean up the wider catalogue so more removals do not follow.

Questions

What is VeRO on eBay?

The Verified Rights Owner program. It lets brands and rights holders report listings they believe infringe their intellectual property, and eBay removes the reported listing.

Can I get a VeRO removal reversed?

Sometimes, through a counter-notice, if the claim is factually wrong. If the listing genuinely used the brand’s assets without permission, the better route is to fix the listing.
