My eBay sales have suddenly dropped
Usually a search-ranking change, a dip in seller metrics, a seasonal shift, or new competition in your category.

A sudden eBay sales drop is usually caused by one of a few things: a search-ranking change affecting how often your listings appear in Best Match, a drop in your seller metrics, a seasonal shift in buyer demand, or increased competition in your category.
Comparing your Seller Hub traffic report against your listing quality and your metrics is the fastest way to narrow down the actual cause. If impressions fell, it is a visibility problem. If impressions held but clicks or sales fell, it is the listing, the price, or the postage.
A practical checklist
- Open Seller Hub, then Performance, and compare the last 90 days to the prior period for sales, impressions and click-through.
- Check your service metrics: late dispatch rate, cases closed without resolution, transaction defect rate.
- Compare your top 10 listings against the current top competitors for titles, item specifics and photos.
- Confirm postage cost and handling time are still competitive for the category.
- Review Promoted Listings spend and ad rate versus three months ago.
- Rule out seasonality against last year’s same-period numbers.

Questions
How fast do eBay sales recover after fixes?
Listing and pricing fixes can move within days to a couple of weeks as eBay re-evaluates relevance. Metric recovery is slower because it is based on a rolling window of transactions.
