My store gets traffic but no sales

People arrive and leave. The problem is on the page, the offer, or the audience.

Reviewed by the Tekovex marketplace team · Shopify store management

Traffic with no sales is one of three things:

  1. Wrong traffic. The visitors aren’t buyers, broad interest targeting, cheap clicks, bot traffic, or the wrong keywords. High sessions, near-zero add-to-cart.
  2. Weak store. Slow load, unclear value proposition, poor product photography, thin descriptions, no reviews, confusing navigation, or a checkout that leaks.
  3. Wrong offer or price. The product-market fit or the price/shipping combination doesn’t land for the audience you’re bringing.

The add-to-cart rate and the checkout completion rate tell you which layer is failing.

A practical checklist

  • Look at add-to-cart rate: under ~5-8% points at traffic quality or the product page; healthy add-to-cart with low checkout completion points at checkout/pricing.
  • Watch session recordings (Shopify has them built in, or use a free tier tool) for 20-30 real sessions.
  • Check load time on a mid-range phone on 4G, not your office wifi.
  • Audit the product page: hero image, above-the-fold clarity, price, shipping, reviews, CTA.
  • Confirm your ad targeting or content actually matches the product intent.

How Tekovex helps

We diagnose which layer is failing, traffic, store, or offer, with real session data, then fix the store-side issues and advise on targeting. We won’t tell you to just spend more on ads if the store can’t convert.

Questions

How much traffic do I need before conversion data means anything?

Roughly a few hundred sessions to a product page before add-to-cart rate is meaningful, and ~100+ initiated checkouts before checkout completion rate is.
