Etsy Views But No Sales? A 15-Minute Shop Audit

Quick answer: If your Etsy listings get views but no sales, people are finding you but something on the listing stops them buying. The usual causes are the first photo, the total price including delivery, delivery time, missing reviews, or unclear details such as size or personalisation. Compare one listing against the top three competitors for your main keyword, fix the biggest gap, and then check Etsy Stats again after 14 days.

"Etsy views but no sales" is one of the most common Etsy questions we hear. Tekovex manages Etsy shops for UK and US sellers, and our client stores have passed £1 million in UK sales. This is the audit we run first.

Minute 1–3: Check your numbers in Etsy Stats

  • Open Shop Manager, then Stats, and look at the last 30 days.
  • Find the listings with the most views and no orders. Audit those first.
  • Check where the traffic comes from. Visitors from Etsy search are more likely to buy than visitors from social media.

Minute 4–6: Photos

  • First photo: bright, sharp and clear at thumbnail size, with the product filling the frame.
  • Full set: use all photo slots, including scale (in a hand or room), close-ups, and every colour or option.
  • Video: add a short listing video. It shows quality better than photos.

Minute 7–9: Price and delivery

  • Compare your item price plus delivery against the top three competitors. Buyers compare the total.
  • Offer free UK delivery over a set amount if your margins allow it.
  • Shorten processing times where you can. Long dispatch times lose buyers, especially before holidays.

Minute 10–12: Trust

  • New shops with no reviews convert less. Send a friendly thank-you message with every order and make sure each item arrives exactly as described, so real buyers leave good reviews. Never trade or buy reviews.
  • Fill in your About section, shop policies and a clear returns policy.
  • Reply to messages within a few hours. Buyers often message before ordering.

Minute 13–15: The listing itself

  • Title: start with what the item is, in the words buyers search, not a brand-style name.
  • Description: answer size, materials, care, personalisation and delivery questions in the first lines.
  • Options: make variations and personalisation simple to choose.
  • Attributes: fill in every attribute so the listing shows in filtered searches.

What to do after the audit

Fix one thing at a time on your highest-view listings, starting with the first photo and total price, because those affect every visitor. Wait 14 days, then compare views and orders again. If views also start falling, read our guide to why Etsy sales go down.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I get views but no sales on Etsy?

Visitors find your listing, but something stops them: usually the photos, total price, delivery time, missing reviews or unclear details.

What is a good conversion rate on Etsy?

It varies a lot by niche and price. Compare your own listings with each other and track whether changes move the rate up, rather than chasing one benchmark.

How long before Etsy changes show results?

Give each change about two weeks before judging it, longer in quiet seasons.

Should I lower my prices?

Only after checking photos, delivery and reviews. Price cuts reduce your margin and often aren't the real problem.

Do Etsy Ads help listings with no sales?

Rarely. Fix the listing first, then advertise it once it converts.
